Hans Dillesse (1954)

Hans Dillese is an well know Dutch landscape painter and portrait painter. He mainly paints in a realistic-impressionistic style, and uses a large range of techniques (oil, acryl, pastel, chalk, charcoal, pen, bistre ink, etc). Since half a decade he has also specialised in print making like woodcut (both colour and B&W) and linocut.
He prefers to make his landscape paintings in the field on location, and he therefore tries to travel a few times a year to different parts of Europe.

As a result of his combined love for the landscapes of Ireland and Scotland and for malt whisky, he has recently started making paintings and prints inspired by malt whisky and malt whisky making. The focus in his work is on the relation of the product and the distilleries with the landscape and region, and on the artisanal character of whisky making. For work on commission by Hans Dillesse more information can be found on several other pages:

He works as a art teacher at a highschool, gives a portrait paint course, and regularly gives workshops in his home country and abroad. More information on his work and a portfolio can be found on his website www.hansdillesse.net (no work for sale).
